Nutrition for Cancer Care

Supporting your body and mind before, during, and after cancer treatment.

Cancer nutrition is an area I feel deeply passionate about, both professionally and personally.

When I was halfway through my nutrition degree, my mum was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, and seeing her go through such gruelling treatment made me realise how little nutritional and lifestyle advice is currently given to oncology patients. In six years of treatment, the only dietary advice she was given was to eat ginger cake if she felt nauseous!

That inspired me to train further in cancer nutrition so I could better support not only her, but many many other people who need support before, during and after conventional cancer treatment. As an NTEC-qualified Nutritional Therapist in cancer care, I provide a safe, evidence-based approach to nutrition and lifestyle support to work in synergy with conventional treatment.

While there are never guarantees with any cancer intervention, research shows that diet and lifestyle changes may help support wellbeing, treatment tolerance, recovery, recurrance and long-term health outcomes.

My role is also to help clients navigate the overwhelming, conflicting and sometimes dangerous cancer advice often found on social media, offering balanced guidance grounded in science, compassion and most of all, safety!

I truly believe better nutritional support for oncology patients improves quality of life, helps reduce treatment side effects and ultimately in the long term could save valuable NHS time and resources by supporting people through one of the most difficult and daunting periods of their lives.

Nutritional therapy helped me regain strength during treatment and feel hopeful again.
